New Tattoo

Hi All,

It has been a while since my last post as I have gone back to work and hate to turn on the computer once I am home. I hope to start posting more of my work in the coming days. In the mean time I am going to post pictures of the tattoo I just had done. I had an old wrist tattoo done in New Haven CT at Papilion that I want covered. John and Fantasy Ink in Meriden did this great black and grey tattoo. I wanted only alittle color which he added to the flowers. The main focus of the tattoo is the leaves in black and grey. The photos were taken the next morning so the arm is still really red and swollen. It took about 2 1/2 hours to complete. I will post more photos when the area is no longer red. I am so happy with the job done by John.

Posted this to Etsy, it is part of my haunted series. It is listed also in a post from last month, but it took me all this time to finally get it listed for sale.

Finally Internet Returns

Wow with all the bad weather we have been having this year it is unbelievable. I was without internet for over a week due to a lightning strike....

Mixed Media Monday,Tell a Story

The day was dragging on and Jeanine and Margo were sleeping the day away. As they dreamily sat on the sofa, Jeanine thought, I am going on a journey. She encouraged Margo to grab a favorite toy and suit up for travel. Margo grabbed her running woman ball and Jeanine grabbed the fortune teller for added assistance on their journey. Margo donned her flight cap and goggles and Jeanine put on her silver headlamp. Where should we go asked Margo. Jeanine thought for a minute and begins rubbing her fortune tellers head. Oh mystic mine where shall we go on our travel through time. The fortune teller replies, set the time to Tuesday, put on your wings, wind the wheel and take flight. Don't worry about the destination, just Go ahead and Play. So Jeanine and Margo spread their wings, set their sights on Tuesday and blast off for fun. Go ahead join them, Play.

Mixed Media Monday, Numbers

This weeks theme for the mixed media mondays challenge was numbers. I thought of the game I used to play as a kid...hopscotch. Here is my entry titles, "Let's Play". This is done on a 5x7 canvas covered panel. Vintage ephemera including sheet music has been added. The photo is a vintage 1970s photo of neighborhood children. Acrylic paint, fabric paint, embossing powder add dimension to the piece. Finished off with some vintage bingo pieces, and hearts for the hopscotch pebbles showing how much I loved hopscotch. Hope you enjoy.

I have 2 new ACEOs that I have just completed. The background on both start with acrylic paints. Both also feature some vintage ephemera. The Little Necks ACEO has some vintage ephemera along with a vintage photo added over the acrylic. There is texturing using medium gel added to the paint. Small watch parts have been added and the entire piece is sealed.
The All smiles ACEO has vintage ephemera, along with hearts and silver discs and beads added and then sealed .

Here is a new one, Peace

I love doing collages and adding an overlay to the piece. This one is Peace, featuring great vintage psychodelic paper from a magazine with a nice peace sign overlay. The entire piece was done on a canvas board and measures 7 by 5

Mixed Media Monday: Lace

This is my entry into the mixed media challenge for this week. I am a little late in getting it posted but here it is....Like Mother, is a canvas board with ephemera, vintage photo, lace and buttons all layered with beeswax. I really like the way this turned out. Besides the easily visible lace on either side of the photo, the entire piece was covered in a sheer wax that has added texture to the piece. Thanks for looking
